  Store is clean and usually well stocked. Unfortunately, more times than not, there are not enough lanes open to accommodate customers. Painfully understaffed tills while you'll see 3 employees in the produce section standing around chatting with each other.

  Great selection of groceries and fresh fruit and vegetables. Aisles are a bit narrow and sometimes there are displays that make navigation tricky when the store is busy.

  Wanted to order $100 basket from floral, was told that because I did not give them 24 hours they would not accommodate...too busy, said I would go to a different florist and they said to....so Stony, you have lost our company business. Have moved to Spruce Grove, they are more than willing to accommodate.

  I've been shopping at Stony Plain Safeway since 1993. Today I bought fresh strawberries only to find once I got home, that they are completely frozen solid. I called the store and spoke to Jamie in customer service, who says 'that's weird' and that I can bring them back if i want to. He didn't bother to take my number or try to compensate me otherwise, or even to make me feel as if I matter as a customer. Also, I find it hard to believe that the produce manager never noticed this, as I used to work for Safeway back when they were Canadian owned. I kind of get the impression that freezing the strawberries, which I have since learned come from Mexico, makes complete sense if you want to protect your profit margin against 'rotting'.
